My New Smile at Bangkok Smiles Dental Part 2

As you know, I was recently in Bangkok to have Porcelain Veneers done. Since I last met Dr Piyamas (Bangkok Smile Dental) for a grueling 2 hours of preparation for the Porcelain Veneers, it’s been 5 days and it’s time to have my real and new Porcelain Veneers fitted on permanently. Here’s how the process went.

5 days was all it needed (weekends included) to manufacture my new Porcelain Veneers. It was exciting and I was really looking forward to having the new, permanent ones on! :)

Check out what I did during my 8 days stay in Bangkok here.

For the 5 days, Dr Piyamas put on temp veneers on me, one of which was loose. Fortunately, I managed to put it back on quite easily and made it stay there till my appointment.

On the morning of my appointment, 2 of my temp veneers had slightly black stains on them, which kind of worried me but Dr Piyamas said it was normal and nothing to worry about.

Treatment Procedure

She took about 2.5 hours for this second appointment. First she showed me the Porcelain Veneers fitted on a mock impression of my teeth.

I don’t really know how I can best express my feelings when I saw this. It was like, I’ve dreamt of this all my life. The search for beautiful teeth and here they are, right in front of me, specially for me. My new teeth, just hours away from being permanently bonded to my current teeth. It was pretty life-changing.

She then spent the next 2.5 hours cleaning, sticking the Veneers on, and making sure the gaps between each tooth are still present. A special cement was applied to the veneers and the veneers were then placed on my tooth. Once properly position on the tooth, Dr Piyamas then shined a special light beam to my veneers, which activated the chemicals in the cement, causing it to harden quickly.

She also took care to ensure that none of the new Veneers were too high and that it felt natural for me when I bite.

Here’s me on the Dentist’s chair. I had to cover my mouth cos my lips were kinda swollen after the local anesthesia!! Btw, I really enjoy having local anesthesia! Dr Piyamas is super gentle with the injections. I can’t even feel much when she injects them in! <3!

My beautiful smile begins NOW! :D

The last step was for me to return for a follow-up visit in 2 days to check out how my gums are responding the the veneers and to examine if my bite is okay.

Before & After Pictures

Here are some pictures to share after my Veneers got fixed on!

It’s amazing. I couldn’t stop smiling. Dr Piyamas is a genius and I cannot thank her and the team at Bangkok Smile Dental enough. I feel like my life has taken a turn for the better. The unevenly shaped teeth I used to have is now gone.

I feel so much more confident and I look forward to showing more of my teeth instead of taking close-mouthed smiles now! :D

This is Dr Piyamas. She’s very motherly and I feel extremely comfortable with her. She’s always smiling and very welcoming during all my appointments. I had like a million questions on after-care and she patiently went through it all with me.

Thank you, thank you so much!

ON your before pic, i see that your edge of the upper teeth hit the edge of lower teeth which is not a good case for veneer, but how can the bite change in ‘after picture’?

    Hi Ely,

I purposely aligned them in a straight line to show the whole row. In real life, my lower jaw is actual positioned behind my front teeth. So the upper teeth does not hit the edge of the lower teeth.

When the dentist designed the shape and size of the veneers for me, she did take all this into consideration and recommended and designed according to what’s suitable for me. :)

Hi Sophia, oh dear I can’t recall.. Maybe $3K SGD? Yes I only did 6. They will surely recommend you to do whitening too – which is good and very lasting.
