My love of Dim Sum

Little buns and exquisite little dumplings excite me endlessly.

Dim Sum. I feel like shouting over and over again that I love Dim Sum I love Dim Sum but I shall not bore you here (bold can already).
I also got recommendation where to find yummy Dim Sum! I’m completely crazy about Dim Sum and will opt Dim Sum over any other meal any day! But only decent Dim Sum, I emphasize.
Speaking of which, maybe I should just go Hong Kong again just to savour the fantastic Dim Sum available everywhere!
Anyway back to what I’m going to Rave about – Victor’s Kitchen @ a humble little shop at Sunshine Plaza. I used to frequent his place but ever since I moved further away, I stopped. Big mistake, I know. I went by last week and realised how much I missed Dim Sum!
Duckie first brought me to this place and boy am I grateful for that! My impression of siew mai has been lowered to the factory mass produced (without prawn) kind ever since I lived in Singapore. Back in KL I could get really fleshy and fat siew mai easily! But in Singapore, all the coffeeshops all sell “heated” mass produced yucky siew mai.
So imagine my ultimate delight at having been brought to Victor’s!
Please, just look at the Siew Mai. Omg maybe I should scoot off work and run for some Dim Sum at Victor’s now.

The selection here at Victor’s is not extensive but the quality is very good.
Apprently his Silky Custard Buns are famous but I haven’t had the inclination to try it yet. Maybe very soon!
I love all the items with Prawns in it because his prawns are juicy and fat. None of that measly minced prawn shit you find so often.
I especially love his KING Har Gau – which is a must-try.

Very tasty (and saucy) chicken feet. This was VERY GOOD a year ago when I first tried it. Somehow, the standard seems to have dropped. Very decent still though.

This chicken is nothing to shout about. Very ordinary. Would I eat it again? Yea, if I run out of things to order! Hahaha!

A couple of other must-try:
1) Pork Ribs. It used to have black beans and chilli slices in there. That was REAL good. I don’t know why he evolved this recipe for this. :( It’s still nice though!
2) XO Carrot Cake. Wah. Nuff’ said.
Aiyah I don’t want to blog anymore. I want to go eat Dim Sum now!
