Cherry Blossoms

The day I went to Bei Hai Gong Yuan, was the day I first saw Cherry Blossoms. They were beautiful. Every last petal of them. When seen from afar, these lovely flowers make a beautiful picture. I am going to let pictures speak for themselves. Look at that – White Cherry Blossoms. Macro mode The pink ones! Look at the colour… pinkish white… All together now… *SIGH*

My Chinese Adventure – Part Three (Beijing)

Hello Hello! Day three of my wonderful trip to Beijing brought me to picturesque Bei Hai Park. Today I had no one to bring me around. So it was quite scary! The chinese people are quite impatient and loud-speaking. They seemed rude and unfriendly to me. Maybe they didn’t mean to portray that since I guess their culture is such. Anyhow, I was excited and scared all at the same time. This is the first cab I took on my…

Ma La Steamboat! In the morning, I went to the Bei Hai Gong Yuan (will be posting about this soon). And the previous days at Beijing was REALLY cold. I was super excited about the fact that I’m going to eat Steamboat! A friend recommended me to this place so I decided to pop by. The restaurant actually serves more than just Steamboat. They also serve Chong Qing dishes. To be frank, I’m not a fan of Ma La Steamboat.…

Boredom leads to many a things

I did it! Yes people. I quit. I walked right up to my boss with my pristine white envelope in my right hand, gave him a sickly sweet smile and dropped the letter full of sweet-nothings onto his desk. He looked at me in shock. I leaned over and whispered “it’s over”. And then I sat down in front of him, crossed my legs and looked at him straight in the eye and told him that I am a valuable…

Wang Ping – 6 course meal dinner!

Something like TAO’s in Singapore, only difference is, the food is of a higher quality. There were several categories (6 courses) and within each category, there were quite a variety of items to choose from! I was excited to begin choosing! The first course was…

Yummy Potato Chips!

Some big brands are available in most parts of the world. I especially love exploring the local supermarkets in different countries to see what’s on the shelves! I went crazy in China’s supermarkets. In China, LAYS’s potato chips are quite different from what we have in Singapore. One of the things I love about travelling is checking out new flavors of familiar products. It’s true that they can’t have one standard set of flavours across the world (imagine local china…

My Chinese Adventure – Part Two B (Beijing)

So after my GREAT trip to the Great Wall, I had a bit more time but not enough to get myself to the Ming Tombs. Dammit. (TIP!) Remember, Badaling is near the Ming Tombs but Mutianyu is not! Bye Great Wall! :( I asked the taxi driver to take me to another nearby attraction called Hong Luo Temple. Hong Luo means Red Snail. So the temple is actually called Red Snail Temple. I don’t know how true this is, but…
